Fan Xu, Ph.D.
I'm a senior learning designer in the Center on Education and Training for Employment (CETE) at The Ohio State University, where I lead initiatives to advance research and translate research results into real-world applications. Currently, I am the Principal Investigator on a funded project titled Advancing AI Literacy for Families and Schools in Ohio. In collaboration with local K-12 schools, we design, develop, and deliver accessible parent workshops and professional development for educators and administrators, aiming to bridge the AI literacy gap and integrate it into community learning.
I earned my Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a focus on Learning Technologies from The Ohio State University in May 2023, under the mentorship of Dr. Ana-Paula Correia. My doctoral dissertation investigated middle-school students' development of computational thinking through pair programming, where two students work collaboratively on the same code using a single set of digital devices. I hold an M.S. in Information Technology in Education from The University of Hong Kong under the mentorship of Professor Nancy Law and a B.S. in Educational Technology from Shanghai Normal University.
