The Circulatory System and Associated Diseases

ABOUT

The Community Health Worker Training Program is an introductory course developed by The Ohio State University that focuses on the roles and responsibilities of a Community Health Worker (CHW) in Columbus, Ohio. During this program, students learn the concepts and resources used in community health care and develop the skills needed to become employable as a community health worker. The program aims to train community health workers to effectively provide health-related information and resources to their local communities, improving the health and well-being of their economically disadvantaged neighborhoods.

AWARD

This module won the Crystal award (2nd place) presented by the Association for Educational Communications & Technology (AECT), Division of Distance Learning. This award recognizes innovative and outstanding multimedia-based distance education courses or multimedia-based distance learning projects.


INNOVATIVE DESIGN

Interactive Scenario

Dialogue-based conversations with the character Paulin were used to engage students and provide feedback. 

Interactive Blocks

We added a lot of interactive blocks. Besides the scenario mentioned above, we included clickable graphics, flippable flashcards, and sorting activities, etc.

Multimedia

We also applied the multimedia principle by using different forms of media to enrich our content, such as videos, text, and images
