Fan Xu, PhD
Fan Xu is a senior learning designer at the Center on Education and Training for Employment. Her work at the center focuses on designing and developing multimedia deliverables for Advancing Ohio's English Learners program and supporting center-wide learning design projects.
Fan earned her Ph.D. in Educational Studies, with a focus on Learning Technologies from The Ohio State University, under the supervision of Dr. Ana-Paula Correia. Prior to her doctoral studies, she earned an MSc. degree from The University of Hong Kong and a BSc. degree from Shanghai Normal University.
Fan is experienced in designing synchronous and asynchronous learning and training experiences with interactive technologies and data-driven assessment. While completing her master's study, she worked as a learning designer in Hong Kong, designing and developing educational solutions for diverse contexts and audiences, including higher education institutions, companies, and individual learners. She has also participated in research projects initiated by the Southern University of Science and Technology University and UNESCO-ICHEI, advancing educational technologies in developing countries in Asia and Africa.
